History

Origins
:

Chikafusa was born in Iiga Village in the Winter of 17 years prior.  His parents were, and still are, but simple farmers... they had little, but they needed little to survive and be happy.  In the end, Chikafusa was the middle child of five, two older brothers, and two younger sisters, and he felt the pinch every middle child feels... in the fact that he constantly had to vie for attention, and found himself struggling to get along with both older and younger siblings simply to survive.  True, this was not hard, as... besides the usual sibling quarrels, the five got along pretty well.

Even as early as four years old, Chikafusa showed a remarkable love for telling tales and stories, and seemed to have an innate ability to do so pretty decently.  However, at around the age of five, he also began to display another habit, one that was much less welcome in his life.  This was his unconscious, usually unplanned, desire to help his friends when they were in danger... be it simply being outnumbered, or in a fight that was beyond their means.  Of course, his friends always ran away, and left Chikafusa as the receiver of many a beating.  But he never stopped, and, each time he was knocked down, he would always get right back up.  Unfortunately for him, this in and of itself earned him many enemies, who began to pick him for the beatings instead of his friends.  At first, he always lost, but, as time went on, he began to give as good as he got, and actually won a few of his fights.  this continued for several years, until the bullies were old enough to be called "thugs," and, instead of being allowed their habits, were stopped... not by Chikafusa, but by the Iiga Village City Guard.

At the age of 17, and seeing this for the first time, Chikafusa knew that his life would no longer be spent as a farmer.  He had to find a way to become a Guard himself, no matter what.  He and his friends had played sword fighting games with sticks their whole lives, and had wrestled and pretended to learn Karate... surely that was enough to at least BEGIN on.

A side note... since the age of 13, Chikafusa had developed a crush on the young silk maker, Hasuko.  When it seemed he might finally ask her out, he found she was being courted by a Samurai, of all things.  At first, he was very resentful, and quite jealous... but, after seeing how happy he made her during their wedding, Chikafusa simmered down, and began to relax a little bit about it.  Not that he has truly stopped being upset, or has truly gotten over her... but he has begun to move on.

Present:

Currently, Chikafusa is looking to try and become a member of the City Guard.  He is still a farmer, but his family has two boys, and two girls as well, which allows him more than his share of time to attempt this without shirking his chores.

Desires:

To be a City Guard.  To help the innocent, the helpless, and the powerless.  To do good things, and to help everyone he can do good things too.

Fates:

Whatever the fates have in store for Chikafusa, it will most likely be painful... and adventurous.
