RITUAL |
|
This simple ritual allows the caster to create an
object which has multiple, and useful, purposes. First, the
caster must choose the object; this may be a rock, a business card, a
button, a hat pin... anything of generally small size. Next, he
must place a drop of his vitae on a small mixing surface, and mix it
with a small amount (pinch, drop, etc) of an additional element,
something that has a personal connection to the caster; this may be
anything, including a blue ribbon sliver, a bit of silver, a piece of
chocolate, a spray of cologne, a drop of wine, a glob of paint....
even a drop of blood from the caster's favorite ghoul. Once this
is done, the caster must place the object within this mixture, and,
every two minutes, while concentrating on the task at hand over the
next hour, concentrate specifically on the following incantation:
(Latin) "You are known to me, and I will remember
you."
Once this is done, the blood and the additional
element should be completely dissipated, showing that this part of the
ritual was successful.
If this ritual is in conjuncture with a Warding
Ritual, the caster must, once this hour has passed, add an additional
drop of his vitae, as well as an element which is either of the
caster's choice, or, if applicable, that which is required by the
warding ritual. This will allow the Ward to recognize the person
carrying the object as "acceptable," and let them pass without causing
them pain. Then, with this added, the caster must concentrate
for the additional hour, speaking the following incantation:
(Latin) "You are my ally, and I
welcome you."
At the end of this, all components should be
completely dissipated, signifying a successful casting.
The caster can now feel when the object comes within
a certain distance of him, depending upon the success of the casting,
and it will, if the additional element is added, allow anyone carrying
it safe passage through any Ward set up to allow this.
This is an excellent method for teaching First
Circle Apprentices proper concentration, and the basics of Ritual
casting. |
