Ryo-Ohki
Character: Ryo-Ohki

History:
Ryo-ohki was a science experiment of the great Washuu, created by mixing
the mysterious "Masses" with a crystal. She is able to switch between two
forms: a mix between a cat and rabbit and a spaceship. Her first form
earned her the species name of "cabbit." Because of her ability to
transform into a spaceship, Ryoko, also created by Washuu's Mass
experiments, used Ryo-ohki to go on a pirating spree. With Ryo-ohki as her
ship, Ryoko became one of the most notorious space pirates ever. However,
after attacking the Jurai palace, Ryoko was forced to retreat to Earth.
One thing she did not count on was Yosho, the prince of Jurai, following
her. He managed to best her and then seal her and Ryo-ohki away so that
they could do no more harm.
However, years later, the grandson of Yosho, Tenchi,
became very curious about a cave where a demon was sealed, as he was told.
One day, he stole the key to the cave and went inside to see what the
demon looked like. Well...his curiosity got the better of him, and he
accidently released Ryoko from her prison. After chasing Tenchi around his
school, she finally discovered that she realized that she liked him.
Trouble was coming from more than one direction, though, as Aeka, princess
of Jurai showed up. Ryoko summoned Ryo-ohki and tried to get away. Aeka
overtook her and brought both Tenchi and Ryoko aboard. After meeting
Sasami, Tenchi and Ryoko escaped and had a dog fight with Aeka's ship.
Ryoko commanded Ryo-ohki to force Aeka's ship back down to Earth. This did
not turn out too well as they crashed and took out a major bridge in
Tenchi's area.
After this fiasco, Aeka, Sasami, Ryoko, and Ryo-ohki
were stranded on Earth. Aeka and Sasami's ship was destroyed, and Ryo-ohki
was injured from the crash. During their stay, Ryo-ohki became great
friends with Sasami who cooked many, many carrots for her. Of course,
carrots are a cabbit's favorite food. During their stay at an inn owned by
a Masaki family friend, they were joined by Mihoshi. Shortly after this,
Kagato appeared and kidnapped Aeka. The whole gang went off to save Aeka.
Aboard Kagato's ship, Mihoshi managed to find and free an entrapped
Washuu.
After defeating Kagato, they all returned back to
the Masaki house. Ryo-ohki spent most of her time wandering between Sasami,
Tenchi, and her "mother." After a few more adventures, including
discovering that Sasami and Tsunami are the same, a babysitting adventure,
and a run-in with a strange doctor and his creation that actually ended up
being a part of Ryoko, Ryo-ohki became sad that she couldn't help Tenchi
with his chores.
She went down to Washuu's lab and sat down in front
of the tank where the "Masses" were kept. She thought about helping Tenchi
as she sat. Suddenly, the "Masses" began to gather behind Ryo-ohki. She
turned around and hissed at the "Masses, and then she ran off. Ryo-ohki
did not know that the "Masses" respond to the strongest will produced by
another "Mass." That will was Ryo-ohki's; thus, all the "Masses" had the
wish to help Tenchi. They came together, broke through the tank, and
formed something that resembled a human female...only every feature was in
the same hue of brown. "She" went out to the fields to help out. Washuu
discovered the broken tank and wondered what could have happened.
Realizing that Ryo-ohki was the most likely suspect for releasing the
"Masses", Washuu hooked her up to a thought-reading device. After
discovering that Ryo-ohki had expressed a want to help Tenchi at the time
she was near the tank, Washuu figured that the "Masses" had gone out to
the fields to help. When the girls and Ryo-ohki got out to the fields,
they found out that Tenchi had happened upon the "Masses" in their new
form. Washuu quickly explained that if the "Masses" felt that they were
threatened, they would discharge a part of themselves at the threat; the
discharged part would then explode. Well...the "Masses" found Tenchi to be
a threat and were just about to discharge a part of themselves at Tenchi
when Ryo-ohki hopped on them and forced them to merge with herself. This
caused a reaction to happen, creating a semi-human form that Ryo-ohki
could transform into.
Shortly
after she gained her new form, the Masaki residence had a visit from the
Jurai royal family. During this visit, the king tried to force Aeka and
Sasami to come with him. The princesses did not want to go; therefore,
anger began to build. Ryo-ohki tried to ease the tension by displaying a
dance that she made with her hands to the king. It did manage to focus the
attention of the king away from his anger. After doing her dance twice and
getting no reaction from the king, Ryo-ohki began to cry. This got Yosho's
mother involved, trying to comfort the cabbitgirl and glaring at the king.
The king realized his wrong and comforted the crying Ryo-ohki as well.
This cheered her up greatly, and she ran back to sit with Sasami, smiling
widely. In order for the princesses to stay, Tenchi had to fight a suitor
that the king had chosen. During the duel, Mihoshi crashed into the lake
near Tenchi's house, causing a flood that Tenchi had expected and the
suitor had not. The suitor was knocked out by the tidal wave caused by
Mihoshi's crash, and the king conceded to let the girls stay. The Jurai
royal family returned to their planet without Sasami and Aeka. |
