Wells dug beside springs produce water refreshed by flows through the rock. David's desire for such sweet water from the well at Bethlehem made his men risk their lives to bring it to him.
Jacob's Well was a magnificent structure seven feet across. The Samaritan woman, proud her ancestor had built it, could only speak of the man-made structure of the well. The Saviour spoke of the spring with its living water that pictured the life that he could give. |
