Mt Frankland
Is set in a giant Karri forest and enjoys convenient access and comfortable camping making it the most ‘user friendly’ climbing destination in the State. The massive granite dome offers loads of friction slabs and face climbing on small edges, flakes and crystals. Most of the routes are well bolted with stainless steel bolts. There is some good bouldering, plus the option for long multi-pitch routes like the classic Free Burma (16) that adds to the attraction of the area. The epitome of Mt Frankland climbing includes: Butter Fingers (18), Hannibal (20), Dickheads And Dinosaurs (21), At The Corner (22), Cowlick (21). There is also some diversity in the way of the odd roof ; Crawling From The Wreckage (22), and the occasional crackline; Silence of The Cams (19). Steeper classics on the headwall include: Skippy Goes Splat (19), Dread Head (24) and Frankenstein (25).
