Rick Mussleman
Name: Rick Mussleman

Employment:
      -- Education Supervisor at Carriage Hill Living History Farm.  Carriage Hill Farm is an 1880s living history farm in Dayton, Ohio.  I am the park historian and responsible for the interpretation and research of the farm.  I also am in charge of the interpretive staff, and assisting with the volunteer program.  Also, I am responsible for the development of historical programs throughout the year.  We have a 52 week schedule of programming.  I have a working knowledge on period farming, period crops and heirloom vegetables, historic breeds, period bake ovens, 1860s-1880s farm clothing , patent medicines and pharmacies, traveling shows and minstrel music.
      -- Lead Interpreter at Ohio Village: 1995-2000
            Worked at Ohio Village, an 1860s recreated village in Columbus, Ohio.  This site is administered by the Ohio Historical Society.  Was responsible for intrepretation of the site as well as the interpretive staff.  Developed programs throughout the the year as well as organizing large events.  I interpreted a period gun shop, pharmacy, farm house, and recruiting office.

            I also worked a season as a park historian for the National Park Service.  I have guided tours of the battlefield as well as conducting the first person living history walks for the park.

Reenacting Experience:
      -- Has currently been reenacting for 10 years.  Has previously reenacted with the 4th Ohio, Co. E., a small campaign unit out of northeast Ohio, and is currently in the Buckeye Mess, a member unit of the George Henry Thomas Invincibles.  Member of the Army of the Pacific, and has performed with them as commissary.
Also, member of the Allendale Melodians minstrel group.
