DELOS CORNELL Delos Cornell, 83, died at the home of his son, Charles Cornell, Corning R.D. 2, at 11 Wednesday morning. He had been ill for several months.
Mr. Cornell was born in _ _mrod, April 14, 1864, the son of Frank Curtis. He was married to Sarah Cook of Corning who died in 1917. He lived here until 1931 when he went to Buffalo where he had lived until a week ago. He was a member of the Reed Memorial Baptist Church there. He was formerly employed by the New York Central Railroad. He leaves five sons, Charles, with whom he made his home, Arthur and Manuel of Buffalo; George of Texas; and Chester, of Corning; three daughters, Mrs Myrtle Warner of Buffalo; Mrs Sarah Shipley of Binghamton; and Mrs Marie Roisi of Geneseo; 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Phillips Funeral Home."

1) Delos CORNELL, son of Maxwell CORNELL "Mack" and Huldah MEED. Delos was born 14 Apr 1864 in Himrods, New York. He died 26 Feb 1948 in Corning, New York from myocardites, due to carcinoma of the large bowel and was buried 29 Feb 1948 in Hope Cemetary, Corning, New York.



NOTE: In the 1980's before Great Aunt Myrts death she gave Bunny genealogy information. That information is what we used as a starting point in our reseach. The following is some of what Bunny was told, we have only been able to verify some of it:

The boys took the last name of the farmer they were farmed out to.(common in those days). Hulda Mead lived until the early 1900's. Tom Curtis was slim and good looking and Great Aunt Myrte had met him. She said he was in the Spanish-American War and stationed in Key West. Also, Maria disowned her son George (we don't know why).
