Harmony
The basis of Buddhism is the compassion, harmony and the sharing which also applies to the art of Mokinomo.  The skillful harmonization in blending the colour, shape and taste is highly emphasized in Mokimono and Kaishiki.  These complex products of nature are simplified in the presentation of eastern culinary art.  The best example is that all the basic tastes; sweet, sour, hot, salt and bitter are found in one Asian meal.
