I am Rohin Saluja , a Btech Student of IIT Delhi. I joined Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1998, after clearing the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE). During my preparation for Joint entrance exam for IIT , I felt need for timely counselling for sorting out my day-to-day difficulties which I encountered during those days and the need for guidance which could assist me in preparing effectively for appearing in the JEE.There are many students in this country like me ,who have no clue on how to start and make preparations for this premier entrance examination. There are many students in the country like me,who have no clue on how to start and make preparations for this premier entrance examination. |
In order to
assist such IIT aspirants, this website called IIT-JEE Guide (
, Alternative URL :
www.geocities.com/rohinsaluja) on preparation for JEE
has been launched . This site is the first of its kind in India
and provides information on all aspects of IIT-JEE .The topics
covered in this site are based on my personal experiences , as
well as that of my fellow IITians. Some of the topics covered in
this site include:
Besides these, there is a newsletter service also. This newsletter is authored by myself and by toppers of previous IIT entrance exams. Also the students can respond back or chat with me ,and I personally attend to their difficulties.
I also propose to start an online test on objective questions , which is nowadays an essential part of JEE. The results of tests will be mailed back to the students through email along with comments and advice. I also plan to start a problem section where the student will give me a problem and I will email back its solution.
This site has been added by all the major Search Engines around the world. Around 500 students from all across the country visit this site every week and send their questions . This site has been covered in the newspapers also and articles on the usef ulness and uniqueness of this site have appeared in various newspapers and magazines. Some of the articles that have appeared in the newspaper are:
Netprofit section , Sunday Magazine , Hindustan Times , 7th Nov. 99
Another novel site started by
Rohin Saluja, who wrote in, is www.iit-jee.8m.com. Inspired by
the absence of counselling when he took the IIT-JEE, the website
is all about preparing for the IIT-JEE. The site gives advice on
preparing for the exam, select the right books and coaching
institutes and exam trends, besides providing tips from toppers
and lots more. Thats really thoughtful of you, Rohin. Good
luck!

GETTING INTO IIT
Rohin Saluja, a B.Tech student of IIT Delhi, has set up a site for those who are sitting for the IIT Joint Entrance Exam but who don't have a clue about where to start . His solution: begin with www.iit-jee.8m.com, where there are tips on how to take entrance exams (remember to regulate your food habits in the month of April, for example), how to choose a dependable coaching institute (look at the number of students from the institute who have made it into IITs), how JEE paper marking is usually done, temperamental balance (this is the best section), links to other IIT sites, and so on. This being a very helpful site, its guest book is full of praise for Saluja. Considering that IIT produces the most sought-after brains in the IT industry, both in India and abroad, this site, despite its somewhat amateurish looks, is bound to prove popular.
You are requested to sign the guestbook, as well as give me your feedback and suggestions , which will help me to make it better. My email address is [email protected] .Feel free to ask questions, and I'll try my best to answer them promptly.
