JERUSALEM (AP) (07/25/02) � Israeli tanks rolled into Gaza City early Friday and destroyed a police post and two other buildings, the first operation there since a bombing attack killed a Hamas leader and 14 other Palestinians and drew international criticism.

THE FACE OF SUCCESS
Above are two survivors of a recent Israeli attack
on the Gaza strip (07/22/02);
a one-ton bomb was dropped into a residential area in order to assassinate a leader of Hamas.
The little girl and the boy are brother and sister;
their mother, and two brothers (ages 3 and 4), were killed in the attack.
"We have no interest to hurt innocent civilians and are always sorry about civilians that are hurt but this action, according to me, is one of our biggest successes," Sharon said, "and of course obliges us to be on full state of alertness."
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israel's parliament passed a law on Wednesday (07/24/02) blocking payments to Palestinians either wounded or who suffered financial loss at the hands of the Israeli army during military operations, a parliamentary source said. The parliament adopted the law. It would block damage payments to victims of the Israeli army during the Intifada.
Yeah...heaven knows poor, poor Israel can't afford it.
How can they afford restitutions and pay for all of those one-ton bombs at the same time?
Israeli's Foreign Minister, Shimon Peres, apologized for "the results of the attack."
A nice gesture.

I am not anti-Israel or anti-Jewish but I am agog at how some members of the American Jewish community can so blindly support what has demonstratably been a selfish act of Imperialism.
To my Jewish friends, I ask you forgiveness, and accords. I've no problem with you.
I will not say to myself, "Gee, they could always move to Israel, and my sister needs a house, so it is in my right to kick an American Jew out of his/her house, take their land, and claim some flimsy, rationalized excuse for clear theft and barbarism."
I would never say that - but some of the real anti-Semites have been saying that for years.
Though the quote has largely been scrubbed, Ariel Sharon, His Fatness, actually said, "�every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that�I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel, we, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it."
That mother fucker honest to G-d said that.
And some of us, Progressives like me, are starting to wonder if it's true.
As an American, how dare you expect me to show allegiance to him, to Sharon.
Wake up. Just because Hollywood has spent the last 30 years making Germans the bad guys, doesn't mean that the rest of us can't see the blatant murder and theft on the part of right-wing Israeli kooks against poor, desperate Palestinians.

On 04/30/2002, four Palestinians were killed on the Gaza strip by
Israeli occupation forces. Among the dead was this young girl, being
carried to her funeral by her uncle.
14 other Palestinians were injured as well.
Did you see the headlines in the US News? No? Did you hear it on the radio? Me neither.
Did you see it on the TV? Get real.
Now...had four Israeli's been killed by a suicide bomber,
a girl of this age among the dead...and fourteen other Israeli's injured...do you
think you would have heard about it in the American press?
Do pigs oink?
It's stuff like this, the blatant one-sidedness of
the issue,
that really pisses me off about this country.

THE HORROR OF BEING POWERLESS
Above is a snapshot of a Palestinian girl, at a
funeral, mourning the loss of her brother, shot dead as he resisted...the Israeli
tanks, helicopters, and brigades of fully-armed soldiers invading his
neighborhood...with a stone.
������� She doesn�t look like an animal to me.
������� 13 or 14 Israeli solders were ambushed
and killed recently.� It stole all the
headlines.� Over 100 Palestinians were
killed on the same day, but that fact barely earned a footnote.
������� And Mona Charen, syndicated whore
columnist, called all of us �morons� for criticizing Israel�s obvious and
blatant military brutality.�
������� When you point out this fact to any
supporter of Israel, they go off on a tangent about how the land never really
belonged to the Palestinians, or how Israel is the only freely-elected
democracy in the region (a country that brags about freely-electing a murderous
gorilla like Sharon is not winning over any converts to its way of thinking).� They say the Europeans are �shaming
themselves� for having the chutzpah to call the cards as they see them, and
quickly accuse the UN and EU of fostering anti-Semitism.�
Or they niggle about the promises Arafat had broken, never bothering to
mention that his promises were broken because Israel never once stopped
establishing more settlements on the West Bank, which was their promise.� They don�t talk about the �refuseniks�, which
are a large number of Israeli officers and soldiers who are currently under
arrest and facing court martial for refusing to patrol the West Bank and harass
Palestinians.� They never mention that
Israel has the fourth largest army in the world.
������� Oh, or this is the ringer, this is one I�ve
been seeing in a lot of columns and letters to the editor, �What have the
Palestinians ever done for the world?�
Name one prominent Palestinian scientist, doctor, composer, etc.�
������� Oh yeah, that�s fucking rich.� This attaches a �talent� criterion to a
person or race�s justification for survival.�
According to this argument, if �talent� is the new justification for a
person�s right to live in a fair world, then 90% of us might as well swallow a
cyanide pill right now.
������� And on and on�.
������� A lot of innocent Palestinians are going
to get killed.� Everybody will say, �Gee,
that�s a shame, somebody should do something� and nobody will.�
������� The Palestinian�s most unforgivable sin
is having been born poor.
������� The truth means nothing in America if it
