I'm not anti-American. I'm just tired, disgusted, disillusioned, 38, and pissed-off.

I'm tired of being lied to.

I'm tired of being used.

I'm tired of standing witness to the ruination of my beloved planet.

I'm tired of seeing the rapacious exploitation of resources for the benefit of a few faceless stockholders: virtually unidentifiable businessmen who's only concern for the Earth and her people is the extent to which the first can be efficiently plundered, and the latter conveniently raped.

I am starting this page for many, many reasons, some of which are listed below, to be addressed at a later date.

The motives for my country's actions in Afghanistan are 'infinitely justified,' according to official government press releases (which is virtually the only information available to us), and redundant 'free' press iterations (which are anything but objective and globally informed). Once again we're merely the good guys bombing the shit out of the bad guys, and heaven help anybody who gets in our way or dares to peer a little deeper into the story.

But I'll bet on this: 10, 20, 50 years from now, we'll finally be privy to information that is currently classified or otherwise obfuscated�and brothers and sisters, it ain't going to be a pretty picture�something akin to Lee Harvey Oswald's marksmanship and the Warren Report.

Similar examples of my country's lies are extensive and I am beholding to you to list them (with references) in short form and, where possible, at length.

I'm an American, and I tell you, my fellow Americans, I don't think that we are the freest people on earth anymore. I'm sad to say that I think most of us really don't know what's going on.

A free press is an unofficial branch of our government, an unelected branch that has a solemn responsibility to the citizenry, a branch that has failed and is currently failing at that task, a branch that has become corporatized, monopolized, and manipulative, opting for profits instead of relevant information.

But I love America, surely the ideal of America, and I will soon establish a sister site entitled "Why America Reigns" listing all of the reasons why I love this country. But now is not the time for self-congratulatory accolades.

This site is for drunken raves, erudite research, apologies, condemnations, learning, sharing and, hopefully, teaching.
