When Selina was a young child her mother Maria Kyle committed suicide. Shortly after, her father Brian Kyle drank himself to death. Selina and her sister Maggie were taken away. Selina ended up at Sprang Hall Juvenile Detention Center from which she escaped. Eventually, Maggie ended up joining a convent. In order to survive, Selina begins stealing. During a robbery gone wrong, she's shot. Then, is forced into a life of prostitution, where she meets a very young Holly. One day Selina sees the Batman escape from a building surrounded by cops. This inspires her to don a costume herself to help protect some of her friends and family. She begins to steal again and leaves her former life behind.
Selina trained under World Champion boxer Ted "Wildcat" Grant, Master Thief James Stark, and Martial Artist Armless Sensei. With her new abilities, Catwoman becomes a world class thief. She goes up against Batman on various occassions, but also helps him from time to time, ex. during No Man's Land. Selina seemingly dies at the hands of the assassin Deathstroke.
Currently, Catwoman is the protector of all those in the East End. Selina's sister Maggie comes back. Unfortunately, she is made to witness the torture and death of her husband at the hands of Blask Mask. Emotionally distraught, Selina starts dating P.I. Slam Bradley. He ends their relationship saying its "not good enough" for either of them. During the Hush storyline, Catwoman and Batman begin a relationship. Batman reveals his true identity to Selina. However, Batman ends that relationship because he thinks it has been manipulated by Hush.
Currently in th DC universe, it was revealed many, including Catwoman, were mindwiped by Zatanna and the JLA. Selina questions if she changed from a sometime-villain and thief to a hero and protector because of this mindwipe.
Everything jumps One Year Later and Selina has a daughter, Helena, and has given up being Catwoman. Selina's friend Holly Robinson is the new Catwoman.

Bruce trained under boxer Ted Grant, magician Zatara, assassin David Cain, Master Martial Artist Kirigi, and Henri Ducard among others.
Although always thought of as a loner, Batman works with various members of the Batclan. First was Dick Grayson, the original Robin and current Nightwing. Then Jason Todd, the second Robin who was killed by the Joker and current Red Hood. Tim Drake became the third Robin. Finally, Stephanie Brown, formerly Spoiler, became the fourth Robin, until Batman fired her and Tim took the mantle again. Batman has also worked with Barbara Gordon, the first Batgirl who was left paraplegic by the Joker and is now Oracle; Cassandra Cain, who became the second Batgirl; and Helena Bertinelli, the Huntress. Batman is also a founding memeber of the JLA.
By day he is billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and by night he is Batman, the Dark Knight Detective. He has dated many beautiful women, including Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, Zatanna, Vicki Vale, and Talia Head among others, but none have been able to get close to both Bruce and Batman like Catwoman.
Batman was also mindwiped by Zatanna and the JLA. During Infinite Crisis, Tim's father, Jack Drake, and friend, Kon-El, are killed. After the events of Infinite Crisis transpired, Bruce decides to take some time off. He sets sail with two of his closests friends, Dick Grayson and Tim Drake.
Everything jumps One Year Later and Bruce returns to Gotham, which had been under the temporary protectin of Harvey Dent. Bruce also offers to adopt Tim. Tim accepts.
