Below: Starbucks Coffee at last!  Like a couple of parched travelers crossing the Sahara Desert, we walked as far as we dared for a little taste of home.  Asphalt_Carver ordered his Foo-Foo Ice Tea.  I got my coffee.  Check out the color of that Ice Tea!
Central Coast 2007 Page 14                                                                                                 Day 3
We sat around and kicked it at the Monterey Outdoor Mall, where anyone and everyone that needed to be seen hung out.  Tons of beautiful, well dressed people walked by us and were having coffee and lunch.  Beautiful and expensive cars passed by across the parking lot.  The weather was just nothing short of perfect.  Not too hot, not cold.  We were loving life.  After an hour, we headed back to our bikes.  I was careful not to walk too close to AS's sqeaking boots.  The ride back to Cannery Row wasn't too bad as we now knew what the hell we were doing and where we were going.  Plus, the extra sugar had kicked in so the pounding headache, confusion induced sweating, and stiff neck had subsided.
We met the Bay Area crew at the Bullwacker's Restaurant on Cannery Row.  The crew consisted of Bluepoof, Nny, & Twist.  There, we had some drinks, and ordered "The World's Best Fish and Chips".  Turned out it was a single filet of fish fried in batter, plain cut fries with salt, with something they called "Cole Slaw".  Everyone agreed they've tasted better.  Hell!  The Fish n Chips at my local Claim Jumper restaurant was way better.  So it didn't surprise us that the restaurant next door to ours, had a sign that said, "World's Best Fish n Chips".  Thus, I would conclude that everyone along Cannery Row boasted in having the world's best.  That of course doesn't mean a thing because the jury is still out as to who has the best.
After the festivities at Bullwacker's ended, we mounted our iron horses and headed back south on Hwy 1 towards San Simeon.  This time, the roads were completely dry and devoid of any debris on the surface.  Asphalt_Carver and myself had been chomping at the bit to ride faster in the twisties of Hwy 1 so we got our wish.  After Pebble Beach, AS and myself checked out.  AS got a head start as I got stuck with slower traffic for a while.  Then, it was just me cruising along the curves for a longest time.  Since we had already done our photo-ops, there was no need to stop so it was very enjoyable to just rail in the corners.  Most of the motorists along Hwy 1 were courteous and pulled over to let me pass.  A few inconsiderate drivers chose to hold their ground and not only held me back, but other motorists as well.  I felt sorry for those stuck behind inconsiderate drivers.  They really couldn't or wouldn't pull out to make a pass and so they had to slow crawl it around the tight corners because someone just couldn't be bothered to use turn offs.
By the time I reached Ragged Point, I was getting pretty tired.  My neck was getting stiff again and I was having difficulty looking through the tight, uphill corners.  I had planned to stop at Ragged Point to take pics but when I got there, the parking lot was full!  I decided to just keep going south.
Above:  I finally decided to stop and take a breather after 85 miles of nonstop twisties.  I had to check out the view!
