Based on the gripping book by Peter Benchley ,without doubt, this was the first "real" monster movie, and has had a bigger effect on society than most people care to admit. People don't seem to remeber that before Jaws' release, there was very little public awareness about sharks, so naturally, few bathers feared them. However, with a very reallistic direction from the now ledgendary Steven Spielberg, this film has helped keep a lot of people out of the water, and that on its own stands as testament to the films exellence. |

With the aid of superb special effects, provided by by three robots/puppets called "Bruce" and live action footage of sharks, filmed by, amongst others, the world famous Ron and Valerie Tylor husband and wife diving team and self-confessed lunatics. This site wasn't set up to tell you what you already knew, so I needn't tell you about the story, but if you haven't already whatched it, I strongly suggest you go and rent it out at least. A little tip: make sure you're sitting confortably, when Hooper goes diving at night. |
