A fish called Wanda |

One of the classics of British comedy is without doubt "A fish called Wanda". In England, most people will probably have already seen it, due to constant repeats from the BBC, but this is by no means a bad thing, as no matter how many times you watch it, it still makes you laugh. For those of you who have not watched it yet, here's a brief storyline: American partners in crime Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline hook up with a London villain to perform a daring bank robbery. They planned to backstab all the way along, as they make him get caught by the police, allowing them to steal the loot, from were he said he hid it. However, it isn't there, so Curtis has to "get in"(literally) with his lawyer (played by John Cleese), and make him tell her were the loot was actually hidden. This isn't as easy as it sounds, especially with the highly protective and psychotic Otto (Kline) nearly ruining the plan every step if the way. As for how it all works out, you'll have to see that for yourself......... |

ALL the characters are played well, but the truly insane Otto steals the show, while Michael Palin plays a good though backward K-K-Ken (with an awfull stutter) and Cleese acts great as the stereotypical oppresseed middle-Englishman. |
