Question: Ive had people try to stump me with the question: Where did God Himself come from? Whats your answer?

Kens Answer:
You know, it's important for Christians to be able to give reasons for what they believe. If we say there's a God Who created all things, then we need to be able to defend it.

Certainly, it's by faith that we believe these things, but it's not a blind faith. In fact, we're told in Romans there's enough evidence in the world to convince everyone that God is Creator. We know that cars and airplanes don't just get here by chance. Somebody made them. When we look at the complexities of life, we recognize there has to be an intelligence behind them. Well, where did this intelligence come from?

The Bible tells us "In the beginning, God . . ." In other words, the infinite Creator God has always been and always will be. This is the most logical scientific statement you could ever make. You see, if you don't believe in God, then you have to accept by blind faith that matter arranged itself into complex information systems like DNA, which goes against what we observe in real science today.

Whered God come from? God was not created; He is the Creator.

Question:
Ken, people sometimes write us and declare that by taking Genesis literally, our ministry is divisive and unloving. How would you respond?

Kens Answer:
First of all, I think we need to look at the Bible to understand what it teaches about division.

We're told that there was division because of Jesus Christ, and that He actually came to divide. We're also told in Scripture that men loved darkness rather than light. When you shine light (that is, the truth of God's Word) into the darkness, there's going to be division. It's inevitable.

So you see, when we oppose evolution, and insist that people believe in what the Bible teaches in the book of Genesis, there's going to be division because the majority of people don't want to accept God's Word. To be honest, I'd be worried if there wasn't divisionas long as we preach our message for the right reasons.

As weve said time and time again on this broadcast, the Creation/evolution conflict is not a side issue. When you understand that the Bible teaches there's none righteous, no not one, and there's none that seeketh after God, we should expect that the Biblical creation message will not be embraced, but actually rejected by the majority.

Question:
Time and time again, Ken, youve taught on this program that the Bible teaches six literal, 24-hour days of Creation. If thats what the Bible says, why dont many Christians believe it?

Kens Answer:
You know, its true that I've found that most Christians--in most churches--wont accept the days of Creation as six, 24-hour periods of time. But you know what? Ive also found that the major reason most people don't agree with six literal days has nothing to do with what the Bible says, but everything to do with outside influences.

Now what do I mean by that? I have Christians often tell me that the Creation days can't be six literal days because scientists have proved the Earth is billions of years old. But scientists have not shown that the Earth is old. Evolutionary dating methods have all sorts of assumptions about the past, and theyre based on the fallible theories of men who weren't there. Why is it that we're so quick to take the words of men who don't know everything, who weren't there, and have them judge God's Word? We must understand that God knows everything, and Hes always been there.

If we take God at His Word, and get rid of those outside influences, we find there's no other way of taking Genesis but as literal history.
