THE GREATER ENTROPY
-----------------------------------------
Many attribute the fall of the Roman Empire to a variety of causes:
- Decay
- Financial Problems
- The Dole and/or the Barbarians
- Economic and Military
- Christianity
- Vandals and Religious Controversy
- Division of the Empire
- Inneffective Public Health Policy to fight the Epidemics: Lead, Malria or Plague
- Hoarding and Deficit
(History Net)
In resume, they are:
the inefficient or broken state with:
- an innefficient or absent domestic policy
- and an innefficient foreign and frontier policy
coupled with
- a high foreign population concentration and emigration at the frontier
However, they all come to a single factor, to a single law. Nothing on earth and in the universe can last forever. For everything, growth, at a point, should cease. The law of the greater entropy which is the basic law of the evolution of the universe tells us that the later, as a system, tends to a greater disorder as it evolves and will "dissolve" at the end. Everything in the universe, whether it is physical or not, obeys to that same general tendency. Therefore, what is matter so much, at last, is not the end of an empire, not even how it ended, for an end sure there will be, but how long the empire has lasted. However, since there will be always causes and manner for it to end, history will be there for the analysis.
