The Rally of the Wirral was Roger's first ever rally. Luckily codriver , Robin Hernaman, is very experienced and guided Roger through all the neccessary pre and on event formalities. The event was a single venue event on the sea front of the Wirral. The first stage started well and driver and codriver were just getting into gear when disaster struck and the gearbox broke at the end of the first stage.
The service crew, consisting of Wysall based Peter Mustoe, was unable to install a new gearbox during the service break. This was largely due to the fact that a spare 'box wasn't available and the team's first rally ended in retirement.
Once the car is fixed Roger and Robin will continue in the Polo Challenge. |
