1991-1992
Notable news of Ninety-One includes New Years's in Nebraska, a four day drive through the southwest U.S. whilst bombs fell on Baghdad, shelter in Los Angeles and Palm Springs for six months before a six-month adventure in Europe, photographing the top 200 restaurants for The European Gourmet magazine.  February through mid-October of this year, I lived at the former Beverly Hills home of Marilyn Monroe, where I recuperated from the exhiliarating 25,000 mile trek through Europe's favorite kitchens and not-so-photogenic chefs.  By summer, the journal from my trip will be published in the U.S.  Somewhat secure from the L.A. riot fires, I nevertheless chose Paris as a change of scene in October for three weeks, followed by a return to the American College of Switzerland.  A two-week college recruitment trip for ACS along the eastern U.S. preempted Thanksgiving and my 25th birthday on the 26th at home in West Virginia.  I am presently volunteering at my former college's alumni office, organizing the 30th Anniversary Reunion in July.  Leysin is still the most indescribable place I've crossed in my travels.  Breathtaking and panoramic only begin to describe what alumnus Sylvester Stallone called, "Camelot, the sleepy town where time stood still and problems melted away."  If you have problems that need "melting away, " join me.  We'll throw on some cheese fondue while we're at it.
