| There are many different ways in which people learn. The main ways have been categorized into the following eight groups: Linguistic- Primarily works well in reading and writing, and learns best using dialogue or reading words. Logical/Mathematical- Works best when working on math problems, experiments, etc. Learns best from things such as categories or patterns. Spatial- Likes to design and create things, a daydreamer. Learns best in ways such as pictures and visualizing. Musical- Likes to sing/hum and listen to music. Learns most efficiently through any sort of musical connection (i.e, rhythm, melody, etc.) Bodily/Kinesthetic- Likes to use body language and moves around a lot. It good at sports and learns best by touching and interacting physically. Naturalistic- Enjoys being outside and with nature. Learns best in a natural setting. Interpersonal- Likes to be in big groups of friends. An interpersonal learner is good at understanding and communicating with others, and learns best by sharing thoughts. Intrapersonal- Likes to work independently and learns best by that style of learning. |
| What I thought I was... Prior to taking the survey, I thought I had several learning strengths. Primarily, I thought I was a musical learner, due to my love and appreciation for music. However, I also thought I was a linguistic learner, because I love to read and write and do well with comprehension. Being a dancer, I thought there was the possibility that I could be a Bodily Kinesthetic learner as well. What I thought I wasn't... I thought I definitely was not a naturalistic learner. I would much rather be indoors than out, and do not enjoy nature activities such as hiking or camping. This was the only learning style I was almost positive that I wasn't. There still remained the possibility that I learned in the remaining ways as well. |
| But what am I REALLY? I obtained the following results from the multiple intelligences survey: 90%- Musical 80%- Intrapersonal 70%- Logical 70%- Visual 70%- Bodily Kinesthetic 40%- Interpersonal 30%- Naturalistic 20%- Spatial As I had expected, I learn the strongest musically. I was surprised, however, that I scored so highly as in Intrapersonal learner. I enjoy being around my friends a lot of the time, but I DO get more accomplished working independently. |
