| In the main tournament Jimmy White only just lossed to Mark King in the first round. It is the best he has done for a long time. |
| Ricky Walden won his first event ever and he had to qualify. To get the win he beat Anda Zhang of China, Stephen Hendry, Neil Robertson, Steve Davis, Mark Selby and finally Ronnie O'Sullivan. He was losing 5 - 6 but won five of the next seven to win 10 - 8 Ricky has never got passed the quarter finals of a main event. |
