How It All Started
June 2001
Shawn and I remained friends throughout those years, despite the fact that things didn't work out in high school.
On a Monday in June 2001, we went to a banquet as friends. The rest of the week, we spent more time together.
Tuesday: Went swimming with friends and siblings.

Wednesday: Watched Tomb Raider with some friends

Thursday: Started thinking things over.
That Thursday was a turning point. It was a turning point for everything because that was when we both realized we started feeling something for each other, feelings that surpassed friendship. That was also the day that Shawn's girlfriend came back from the Philippines. Yes, he still had a girlfriend, a girlfriend who was also my friend.
It was wrong, we both realized that. We actually took a break from each other to think about what we were actually doing.

Ultimately, he broke up with his girlfriend. Sounds so simple huh? Believe me, it was  far    far         far from simple.
The days and months after that was like sailing through an ocean, very unpredictable. There were days when it was calm and serene, and then all of a sudden the wind started picking up,bringing a storm and then back to calm again. I'm not talking about my relationship with Shawn. I'm talking about my relationship with my friends. For a while, it was like an unending telivision drama.
Despite of all the Drama... Shawn and I lived on...
On September 3, 2001, I had choir practice but decided to hang out with Shawn instead. We went to Our Spot and we were just sitting at the tree enjoying each other's presence. The stars were out, we had a beautiful view of downtown San Diego and the Coronado Bridge. It was the perfect
setting for a perfect night.
That night. with tears of joy in his eyes, Shawn asked me to be his girlfriend and I answered him with a kiss and he looked at me and asked, "Is that a yes?" I responded with, "of course."
So in a (big) nut shell, that's how it all began...
