Even before a lot of the UK cartoon markets went belly-up, I started sending my cartoons to the US. The 'humor-divide' didn't exist through the 70s and 80s when Handlseman, Cotham, Schwadron and Bud Grace filled Punch with some of the funniest cartoons I'd ever seen. The US cartoon market is a lot tougher than the UK's, but it is meretricious, so when you sell a cartoon, you know it's because it really is funny. |
