As any good angler knows, fluke love to nibble at your bait as it drifts by. You gotta be good if you expect to put some in the cooler. We have a solution for that, but you'll have to wait for that one. Anyhow, we took fluke drifting the sticks, between the Elbow and the Flat Top, and by the 6 buoy. They were caught by the Birdnest, drifting the channel, and off the beaches in Cape May. Got fluke just off Money Island, even anchored in the middle of nowhere one day when we just decided to try out some crazy spot.We found fluke just about everywhere, come to think of it, but they were mostly throwbacks, about a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio I would say. Minnies and squid are still the most versatile, all around real bait you can use. When chicken is working it really works well, though. We soak them in shedder oil, but sometimes it just wasn't what they wanted. Maybe this year we will see more action.

Rod : Medium to Med-Hvy, 6 or 7 foot length.

Line : 8-12 pound test, minimum stretch.
