I have gathered here a few contributions to mark this date. We have an art-piece by Luis Emilio.
A lovely little paragraph by Paloma:
"About my grandfather. I always think of him. I have fond memories of our time together when I was little but I especially enjoyed spending time with him two years ago. I was so proud to bring Harm to meet him and to be able to tell him that I am happy. I sincerely hope to be able to spend more time with him in the near future. To create more beautiful memories..."
And one by Cynthia:
"Querido Daddy, te deseo un feliz cumplea�os con mucho cari�o, un fuerte abrazo y muchos besos!! te recuerdo siempre como una persona muy inteligente a quien le tengo mucho respeto, me enorgullece ser tu nieta y saber que formo parte de una familia tan grande y llena de tanto talento y cari�o....abrazos a todos!!!"
And by Tita:
"Daddy sigue guap�simo. No tiene una sola arruga. Sigue oliendo a Daddy, o sea a �ngel. Su mirada es la misma, inteligente e inquisitiva. Su respuesta a mi carcan�a la de siempre, de una gran ternura y amor. Seguramente le duele todo su cuerpo, pero lo cambio constantemente de posici�n, de sill�n, de cama, de cuarto. No ha presentado escaras y ese es un gran logro porque las escaras causan un gran sufrimiento.
Pas� tranquilo su cumplea�os. Le cant� las ma�anitas a las 5 de la ma�ana cuando lo cambi� de posici�n. No le pudimos sacar fotos ayer porque se durmi� de las 2 de la tarde, luego de terminar de desayunar, y no despert� hasta las 9 de la noche cuando empez� con su cocena, que difrut� mucho y que termin� a la una de la madrugada. Come muy despacito porque tiene tos, una tos que nunca quiere ya irse y que le puede causar microaspiraciones e incluso algo mayor..
El men� fue una crema de zanahoria, carne de res asada y chop suey, con agua de pi�a. Terminamos como siempre a la una de la madrugada con la alegr�a de que comi� bien durante el d�a. Est� muy flaquito pero sigue con su gran energ�a vital. Su regalo de cumplea�os ser� una nueva bater�a de an�lisis de laboratorio como parte de su monitoreo m�dico, pero se lo pospuse para el lunes. La qu�mica siempre le atina a la primera y la muestra es m�nima. Los medicamentos que ahora �st� recibiendo es un antibi�tico antimic�tico para una peque�a zona en el pecho, un jarabe para romper las flemas, la pastilla para la presi�n arterial, terciada ya, y el tegretol para las convulsiones que son pavorosas."

A funny anecdote was when Arnoldo took us to Vera Cruz, hoping it was a lovely touristic treat for me (being the first time in Mexico)
Both he and I hated it a lot but since we both wanted to do something really sweet for each other, we dutifully sat out the day!
Later I was very pleased to learn that it wasn't his "thing" at all!
I am attaching a song that I recorded 12 years ago. It tells about my love for life and I dedicate it to Arnoldo, so I hope Tita that you can find a way to give it to him for his birthday!
