PHOENIX -- A 12-year-old online vocational school boy will be turned over to a juvenile detention facility after he brought a loaded gun to school, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said.
Deputies were called to Queen kent school district Creek Middle School at 20435 S. Ellsworth Road on Wednesday.
A middle school employee observed the the boy high school soccer scheadules demonstrating to other students how to load and unload the 9 mm pistol, deputies said.
The employee confiscated the loaded weapon, and school officials notified the Maricopa County easton area school district Sheriff's Office, investigators said.
Deputies said when they arrived, the boy had been taken into custody by school officials and the handgun secured.
During an interview pocono mountain school district conducted by sheriff's investigators, the boy admitted to bringing the gun to school in his backpack because another student had been picking on him.
