about= Tech Trek is a showcase of student projects highlighting the integration of technology into the school curriculum. Displays will include a wide range of projects demonstrating student performance in all content areas through multimedia presentations, web pages, and graphic designs. Students and teachers from all over the district will be on hand to exhibit and discuss their projects. This year the show case will be held on April 15, 2003 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Round Rock ISD Performing Arts Center.

Multimedia, website design, and Tech Trek logo design contests will also be held prior to the showcase. These contests are open to all RRISD students. Winners will be announced prior to the showcase. There will be an elementary, a middle school and a high school winner, as well as an overall winner for each of the contests. Awards will be given during the showcase. Multimedia Contest: Multimedia Project incorporates several types of media: (ex: photography, slides, web pages, audio and video production, computer designed graphics) to produce a final product which demonstrates learning and educates its viewers. The focus of the project will be subject knowledge, depth and breadth of content and evidence that curriculum objectives were met. Originality, documentation and organization will also be included in the scoring. The multimedia project will be judged using a rubric.

Website Design Contest: The website design contest's purpose is to design a webpage that will advertise Tech Trek...Exploring New Frontiers. Students should be creative and develop an original design that follows the criteria as put forth on the contest page. The Website design contest will be judged using a rubric.

Tech Trek...Exploring New Frontiers Logo Contest: Design a logo, using computer technology, to be used on the Tech Trek t-shirt and all published materials. The Tech Trek logo design contest will be judged using a rubric.
