The centerboard I just put lead weights into was unsatisfactory still to my point of view in that the front and back edges were squared, which probably creates quite a bit of drag (2 or 3 cms), so I decided to make sharpened edges with my electric plane. Worked like a dream. Now I just need to sand it and apply my 50-50 solution of tar and turpentine.
