Leaving the '70s

I want to thank your site for helping me convert to short hair. I had long hair for the last 25 years, and as I turned 40, I also was to start a new job. What a better time I thought to go to a shorter hair style!

I had been surfing the web when I came across your site. I read the testimonials about shorter hair, and the descriptions of the many hair styles. So for my 40th birthaday I made an appointment with the lady who cuts my hair and resolved myself to get it cut  short. When I sat in the chair, Julie asked if I wanteded the regular trim. I explained to her I wanted to try something new, and told her about the business man's taper cut I had seen. She just looked at me with a smile and said "about time you left the 70's" and with that she picked up the clippers and started in on the back of my head.

I could almost feel the electricity of the clippers going right thohrough my body! Long strands of brown hair fell to the ground,  when she made her way up the sides of my head, the clippers felt more relaxing than what I had ever imagined. After what seemed a very short time with the clippers, she spent much longer with the scissors cutting and  getting the taper just right. When I finally looked in the mirror (I didn't want to look while she cut it - I wanted to see as others would) I was amazed! It was short but very stylish, I was the same person but somehow different. Julie finished up by putting gel in my hair, as I had never used gel before she explained that it would make the hair on top of my stay in place without being spikey. I was about to get up, Julie told me my outdated moustache didn't go with my new look, so back on went the cape and off came the moustache. I must say she was right! I have been given nothing but compliments over my new look, and I plan to get it cut shorter when I go on vacation this summer.
