Clipper Attachment Lengths

The haircuts in these pictures were cut and photograped by Creative Clipper Designs exclusively for the Buzztown Barber Shop. Creative Clipper Designs sell a videotape that demonstrates how to cut graphic designs and logos into hair. If you would like to learn more about cutting creative designs for your kids or for your sports team or if you are a barber who would like to get some great ideas about creative designs, check out the Creative Clipper Designs web page, which shows a wide range of different graphic designs. This videotape has been getting some excellent reviews.

The purpose of the following photos is to show hair cut to different lengths using different clipper attachments. The eight photos were taken during one session. In the first set of photos, the hair is cut to half an inch. The second set of photos shows the hair cut to 1/4 inch. The third set shows the hair cut to 1/8 inch and the final photo shows the hair at 1/16 inch.

Your mileage may vary

There has been some discussion about these photos on the Hairnet Hotline. The subject in these photos has very dark, thick hair. This makes the hair look longer in these cuts than it would for a guy with lighter color or thinner hair. Someone with thin blonde hair could have much more skin showing through the hair with a 1/4 inch cut than the 1/16 inch cut shown below. As the various warnings in the Buzztown site say, you should discuss any specific characteristics with your barber.

This first set of views was done with a 1/2" bladeguard. The hair is cut to a uniform length. The sideburns and back are squared off. The third view is a uniform cut of 1/2" with the sideburns faded to a length of 1/8".
