Our members are willing to provide the experience of making history come alive for your class of group.

Living history at National Civil War Naval Museum in Columbus, Ga.

Programs available

Classroom living history:

Members with local public school students

One or two of our members can come to your classroom or group's activity and portray a service member from a number of conflicts during the 19th Century in our nation's history. Our members currently are available for schools in the Alachua County and it's surrounding counties, along with the Sarasota-Bradenton area in Florida. Some of the conflicts or periods interpreted are as follows:

War of 1812

First Seminole (Florida) War (1814-1819)

Second Seminole (Florida) War (1835-1842)

American Civil War (1861-1865)

We can also setup a boot camp scenario for the periods listed above for Boy Scout Troops in Florida.

Just imagine instead of being a spectator, scouts can actually get a feel of what our forefathers went through to become soldiers for the United States, or Florida.

Scouts are enlisted into the service, of the groups choice, assigned duties according to already established rank in their troops. They will be drilled by caring instructers in the fine art of marching, facing movements, and military courtesies of the period being represented. They will be issued the same type of rations the soldiers would of ate, but Scouts should provide their own food for the weekend for the rations will probably not be eaten. They will also be given the option of sleeping in period style tents.

Special Events

Every Veteran's and Memorial Day many of our members along with other re-enactor friends participate in the ceremonies held at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Gainesville, Fla. By standing beside the various markers, representing the casualties, of most of the major conflicts in our nation's history, viz, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, The War against Mexico, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. We add a visual reference for the spectators to aid in the rememberance of all United States veterans, distant and recent. If your veterans organization would like for us to attend or be apart of a ceremony honoring veterans please contact the webmaster at the email below. Services other than the army can be represented by members of our group for certain periods
