Institutional Scholarships

Each year Institutional Scholarships prove to be the greatest source of scholarship money for MKHS seniors. Most Institutional Scholarships are awarded at the time that a student is accepted to a college. Most colleges publish information about the scholarships that they offer on their website. I suggest that you go to the website of all the colleges you are interested in and determine the GPA and test score requirements of the various scholarships that they offer. Being aware of this information ahead of time can certainly make a difference in the amount of scholarship money that you can receive.

Periodically, the CAP Office receives scholarships that require the schools’ nomination. These scholarships are usually very limited in number and are extremely competitive. Most will require a high GPA, with comparable SAT/ACT scores, dedicated community service and school involvement in activities and/or sports. If you are interested in any of these scholarships and wish to be nominated, scholarships, please come by this office to discuss the nomination process.   **We must receive your request for consideration at least two weeks prior to the postmark deadline listed on the scholarship. (Example, submit request to your advisor for Emory Scholars Nomination by October 24).
