What To Bring To College For Seniors Home MKHS Home
Remember that dorm rooms are small, storage spaces are sparse, and perhaps students can get by without taking all their things for an entire year.Proximity to school may influence this decision. Visiting the dorm ahead of  time is ideal but not always possible.Resident personnel can provide information. It is also very helpful to contact a new   roommate to avoid bringing duplicate items.
Timetable
June
Make a list of needed items and begin to pull some of these together in one place.
Open a checking account near campus. This can usually be done by mail, phone or online (order temporary checks until you have a permanent address and telephone number).
Have a physical check-up and dental check-up (bring any forms with you   which your school requires).
Have eyes examined and bring an extra pair of glasses (if needed).
Arrange phone installation in dorm room if necessary.
Arrange to have magazine and other subscriptions forwarded.
July
Continue collecting items
Purchase a trunk or find an old one to use -  great for storage and useful to transport lots of things.
Name tag items which are important to you.
Take a laundry lesson.
August
Begin to collect boxes for transporting your belongings -  large boxes are not ideal as they become very heavy when filled (it is usually a long walk from the parking lot to the dorm room).
Being selecting clothes to take with you (you don?t need all of your   clothes!)
Finish buying necessities for dorm rooms. Items are much more costly in college   towns.
Its time to pack!
