FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal and Student Aid.� This is the required application form for all need-based Federal aid   programs.�Documentation may include photocopies of your parents' Federal income tax returns, medical and dental expenses not paid by insurance, changes in income and other specialized forms.
Family Contribution: The amount which the family (parent and student) is expected to contribute towards meeting educational costs.�Calculated from a complete completed need   analysis.
FFAA:  Florida Financial Aid Application. This form is found on   the web and should be filed before the end of a student?s senior year.� In state financial aid (including Bright   Futures Scholarships) can not be awarded unless this form is completed.�
Financial Aid Package �- is any combination of scholarships, grants, loans and work funds used by the postsecondary institution to assist the student in meeting the costs of education.
Need :  Refers to the difference between the resources available to the student (from parents, student savings, summer jobs) and the student's cost of education budget.
PROFILE: Many colleges and universities and scholarship programs require information   collected on this supplemental form to help them award private, nonfederal student aid funds.� PROFILE is a program of the College Scholarship Service (CSS) the financial aid division of the College Board.
S.A.R.: The Student Aid Report is the report sent from the federal processing center to the student after he or she has completed the FAFSA.� The information on the SAR should be   carefully verified.
Scholarship �- Financial aid usually awarded some form of talent:   academic, athletic, musical, artistic, etc. Scholarships do not usually have to be repaid.
