| College Advisement Home | International students applying for aid at American colleges are usually not eligible for awards given through the FAFSA program, and as a result, find themselves in a much more competitive group for aid from the school's actual resources. There are a number of schools that attempt to award more aid to international students with need. While international students may not be eligible for federal and state financial aid, they are usually eligible to receive institutional need-based financial aid as well as institutional scholarship money based on academic performance.
