| W"hile signing autographs, most players do not engage in conversation with the fans. Roddick, instead, cracked jokes left and right! A female fan shouted out "will you sign my chest?" Roddick replied instantly," ok, take your shirt off"! When signing autographs with Jan-Michael Gambill and hearing the girls ask the hunk all kinds of questions, Roddick, had to add a question of his own: "Jan-Mike, will you show us your butt?" Even Gambill had to laugh! Roddick's doubles partner, Jan-Michael Gambill has recently been selected as one of the World's 50 most beautiful people and, wherever he goes, the girls start swarming. This week, Andy Roddick has also been getting his share of female attention. "I just get Jan-Mike's leftovers", he complains modestly. |

| "..the best match of the day was an impromptu singles challenge between Andy Roddick and Patrick Frandji of Orlando - relatively unknown but soon to be bursting onto the National Circuit. The match swung this way and that but a tiring Roddick, clearly feeling the effects of his earlier doubles match and unable to cope with the incessant heavy ground strokes of his opponent, finally offered to concede the match if his opponent could win just one more point. Frandji hit a hard and heavy cross court shot that had Roddick scrambling to make his return. Frandji then played a totally unexpected drop shot that Roddick somehow managed to return but without sufficient pace or depth to prevent Frandji driving the ball into the corner for an unreturnable winner giving him the match and the champion's prize of a large milk-shake with cream and cherry." -centralfloridatennis.com |
