| WE are We are members of the Border Communities Youth Club in Stanstead, Quebec, Canada. The club started in May 2004. The youth club organizes activities for the kids in our community. To keep us busy and off the streets. We have dances every other week at our community hall. We have sports once a week at our school gym. We have a homework club where we can get help with our homework after school. The volunteer tutors are very nice. This is our parents' favourite activity. We have a reading circle once a week were a guest reader reads us part of a novel. We have read "Silverwing" and hope to read "Sunwing" and "Firewing". Friday and Saturday we can hang out with Patrick (our animator) at the church presbetery. We play board games, watch movies, and talk with him. He's awesome! We are lucky to share space with other organizations in our community. But, our Youth Club needs a home of it's own! The club has grown and is still growing with new members ever week. We have a pool table and other game tables and no place to put them. They are being stored in a garage. We are fundraising to earn enough money to get a place for the club. We are selling Christmas trees, chocolates (we make ourselves), We bake snacks to sell at the card parties at a retirement centre in our community. Patrick, Wendy, Sonny, Rock, and Jen. (the administrators) are always coming up with new ideas to raise money. They host fundraising events to earn money for the club. All that aside. We still need lots of money before we can have our own place. Thank you for looking at our site. Have a great day, Paige, Codey, Jessy, Nick, and Cassy (our club mascot).
