| The heart of a real off-road rig is its capability to keep its tires in contact with the terra-firma at all times. When I was looking for a new vehicle in the beginning of 1997, I was initially looking at pick-up trucks. But after reading the Jan. Off-Roader magazine article that displayed the first ever suspension "system"/lift kit for the new the Jeep TJ's, which was designed by TeraFlex, and described how a stock TJ with this lift could achieve a 1000+ RTI rating with 33" tires that would easily fit in the stock TJ wheel well opening, I was almost hooked. I then immediately jumped on-line to review the TJ offerings and learned that I could order a Dana 44 rear-end with 3.73 gears! Holy Shit! I was hooked, but the question remained if I would fit into one of these things, I am 6'8" tall. Well the next day I had to take a little time off from work to do my research, and guess what, I fit quite comfortably. The rest is history!
