The heart of a real off-road rig is its capability to keep its tires in contact with the terra-firma at all times.  When I was looking for a new vehicle in the beginning of 1997, I was initially looking at pick-up trucks.  But after reading the Jan. Off-Roader magazine article that displayed the first ever suspension "system"/lift kit for the new the Jeep TJ's, which was designed by TeraFlex, and described how a stock TJ with this lift could achieve a 1000+ RTI rating with 33" tires that would easily fit in the stock TJ wheel well opening, I was almost hooked.  I then immediately jumped on-line to review the TJ offerings and learned that I could order a Dana 44 rear-end with 3.73 gears!  Holy Shit! I was hooked, but the question remained if I would fit into one of these things, I am 6'8" tall.  Well the next day I had to take a little time off from work to do my research, and guess what, I fit quite comfortably.  The rest is history!

Below details the heart of my Jeep which allows me to traverse almost any obsticle out there:
