| If you don't already know, I love (virtually, you know)and I am very fond of Frank-N-Furter, played by the gorgeous Tim Curry (irrestistible!!!!), twentynine years old at the time of The Rocky Horror Picture Show..... | |||||||||||||||||
| He represents the symbol of a POWERFUL TRANSGRESSION that we all love and would like to live. Each of us in the beginning behaves like the scared Brad and Janet who feel literally shocked by the appearence of the "sweet transvestite". And how else could you feel before this strange creature, half vampire half crazy scientist coming out of an old goods-lift in a perfectly grotsque horror film castle. | |||||||||||||||||

| Everybody in fact watching the film for the first time (and if you haven't seen it yet, what on earth are you waiting for? Go and rent it!) feels a bit scared. Also the hammering music of the uncomparable "Sweet Transvestite" accompanying the tapping of Frankie's heel in the elevator surley increases the suspance.... Anyway in my opinion what attracts us in the end is just what had scared us in the beginning... what about his irrestistible glamour? Finally, I cannot realize how such a heavily made up man, with his ambiguous movements and his feminine underwear can be so "macho"...maybe because of his remarkable sex appeal. I think its the strenght of our character...!!! | |||||||||||||||||

| Dr. Frank-N-Furter in short represents the MISTERY, the AMBIGUITY, the VICE, and so THE EVIL but at the same time he difines himself as a sweet creature and he really shows his sweetness and vulerability at the end of the film when he begs his rebal servent Riff Raff (played by Richard O'Brien) to let him explain everything.......WHAT A MAN!!!! | |||||||||||||||||
