Construction!

When the contractors arrived, the first thing they did was to install the windows upstairs so they would have light to work by.  Here you can get an idea of what we mean when we said the upstairs started out as just an empty shell.

We have windows!  Our house is finally starting to look like a house!  The trim around the windows is painted with primer, but will eventually be painted dark green.  Here you can see the remains of the original deck--it was built from untreated lumber and was quite rotten and very unsafe!

The rooms on the second floor are beginning to take shape.  This view shows the future kid bedrooms, with the picture taken from the future living area that will be central to the upstairs.

Here's the other end of the house all framed up.  The window on the left will be in the stairwell.  In front of the stairwell are two closets.  Coming around to the middle you can see some of the two bathrooms, which are located back to back, in the back corner of the house.  To the right is the master bedroom.

Devin thinks all this construction business is pretty intriguing.

Our new deck!  It sure looks grand, but the nicest part is you can go out on the deck without feeling like your life is at risk.

Heres's the view of the deck looking to the west.  The Stillwater River is marked by the trees.

Here is the back of the house.  The house is built into the hillside, making access to the second story a little easier (we can even drive around to the back door).  The windows are from left to right, bathroom, stairwell, and two bedroom windows.  The deer like to hang around and chew their cud back here.

This is the future upstairs living room.  All the ceilings upstairs are made from pine slats and the trim is natural wood.  This picture shows the just about the final product, all it needs now is carpet!

We have always been fond of a nice view.  Here is one of the angles out our living room window.

And here is yet another angle out the same window.  The snowy mountains are the Beartooths.
