| Rock Villa Cottage - Holiday Accomodations in the West of County Mayo | ||||||
| Links (most have something to do with Mayo and the surrounding areas) I gladly built this site for my family's newly built home and especially my aunt Vivian and uncle Christy, partly to advertise the holiday home, and partly to share the absolute beauty of the area. I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with Ireland but sadly was born 3,000 miles west of there and have returned for 3 months combined in my 355 months on this earth (yes, I've counted). When searching for areas on the internet near where Ma and Da were born, I found a man from nowhere near Mayo with just as much love for this area as I have. His site inspired me to build one. Now if I could only get off my rear to build another one or update this one. So please visit Ken Moreland and his pictures of the Killadoon area (but don't tell him I stole the map on the previous page from his site). Mad for Gaelic? Check out the GAA page or just the page for the green and red. What's the news? Check out the Mayo News online or any regional paper. What's on telly? Check out RTE. A great film "The Field" was filmed in Leenane and Clifden in County Galway and southern portions of Mayo. The highest mountain in Mayo is not the reek but Mweelrea, See it here. A great place for Irish music, live and taped concerts, and more is Celtic TV. You can listen to a pop music station over in Ireland, 2fm. They love Wyclef Jean over there for some reason. There is a bar a short walk from my flat in Woodside, Queens called Kilmegan. The only reason I bring this up is they have a great Irish links page. Why don't you tell us what you really think! Sign my guestbook. At present, I and a cousin of mine have. Join the fun. |
