OF RUSH
I was listening to Rush the same time that I got "real" drums
Even though I was a beginner and had an extremely small kit, I felt like I understood what he was doing
My first band was a cover band that did several Rush songs
I was proud of the fact that not only was I playing a passable version of the drum parts but I was singing lead vocals (not as passable)
Many drummers I know do not hesitate to give him ultimate respect
His inventiveness, precision and colorful style were all
qualitites I sought to achieve for myself
Plus, he just had a REAL COOL DRUMKIT!
