Sailor They Might Be Giants
NAME: Angel Cornelius Istanbul, a.k.a. Sailor They Might be Giants
AGE: 22, but usually insists she's older
HEIGHT: 5'7
LIKES: the Planet of the Apes movie series, traveling, puppets, stargazing, Leonard Nimoy, mail, Marvin Gaye
FAVORITE FOOD: donuts, milk, bourbon, Miller High Life, and almost anything exotic
DISLIKES: Children, politics, shopping
LEAST FAVORITE FOOD: pizza, peanut brittle, pears, bagels, beans, beer (EXCEPT Miller High Life), corn, cake, cauliflower, beef, chowder
HOBBIES: improv, impromptu bursts of singing, stargazing, making puppets, writing letters
WEAKNESS: Angels, John Flansburgh, John Linnell; also, despite her love for travel, has a paranoia about getting lost
APPEARANCE: Angel, though she has no vision problem, wears a pair of chunky black-framed glasses with fake plastic lenses. She has short black hair worn slightly spiky, brown eyes, and fair skin. Her wardrobe has a large variety, and though she can usually be seen in just jeans and a TMBG t-shirt, she often surprises people with random accessories or wild colours. The one true constant is a silver chain around her neck, which she wears a large spider charm on. Her Sailor fuku could be considered dark gray cargos ending cut off just below the knee, a lighter gray t-shirt with the words "They Might be Giants :: Dial a Song" scrolled across them in bright yellow, a brown vest, a fedora, black boots, and mismatched striped socks.
PERSONALITY: Angel could probably be thought of as the goof of the RnR senshi. She's very witty and quick-tongued, always making jokes. It takes a lot to get her serious, though of course she's very loyal to the band, to the point of being extremely possessive. The one way to make her angry in an instant is to threaten the band, especially either of the Johns; she doesn't take the Band of Dans or any of the other constantly-replaced "backup" musicians half as seriously as she does the two Johns, though she will certainly respond if the backups require help. She can be callous at times, passing off severe matters as jokes; often, though, even the jokes have subtleties, and she very rarely intends to hurt anyone. Her outlook on life is that it could be a lot better if everyone smiled, sang, and goofed off more often, so she carries that out as fully as she can (especially the goofing off part, one of her favorite pastimes is bouncing around with John and John ^_~). She acts as a roadie for TMBG, and the Sailor TMBG part of her resides in John L.'s weirdo keyboard (that thing makes WEIRD noises o.o). When she's not looking for random exotic food restaurants, she's watching Charlton Heston movies or fiddling with John's guitar.
SAILOR TMBG (They Might be Giants):
QUOTES: Appearance speech: this is probably the most serious part of Sailor TMBG, and she usually bounces or peace-signs or some gesture like that after she says it:
"You might be thinking that you're free
OTHER QUOTES: Angel, being that kind of person, talks a lot and wards off interruption with:
To introduce herself in her 'human' state, she says: "When you're following an Angel does it mean you have to throw your body off a building?"
POWERS:
Rat Patrol: This is Angel's henshin. "Rat Patrol" plays in the background, instrumentally, the only said lyrics are "I'm on Rat Patrol." She doesn't really have much of a henshin, she just holds her spider charm in one hand and starts singing Rat Patrol, and then everything blacks out for a moment; she whistles (whistles in the dark :D (Whistling in the Dark being a TMBG song), and the lights come back up on her henshined.
And Now You're Even Older: One of her favorite attacks to perform. She holds out a hand at the victim and says "Time is marching on" and the victim ages into a state of being incapacitated and therefore unable to attack.
Ana Ng: She starts chanting "I don't want the world, I just want your half" repeatedly and holds her hands out like a gun pointing to the sky. The target, if they are attacking, lose their attack. If they aren't attacking, it works like a normal attack, shooting a large ball of glass at their heads.
Like a Broken Record: She holds up a hand and black vinyl ribbons shoot out, wrapping themselves around the target, and harden. This both paralyzes the target and often makes them forget things.
Spiraling Shape: This attack has never been completed because the victim always goes literally insane before it can be finished. Spiraling shapes appear in the air surrounding the target, and a warped version of Sailor TMBG's voice chants "Put out your hands and you fall through the window and clawing at nothing you drop through the void."
~~BACK~~
You might be sailing 'cross the sea
You might be staring at the stars,
But you'll be thinking
About me. Me."
"And I'm not done and I won't be till my head falls off though it may not be a long way off." Also, when she can't remember something, she uses "Don't interrupt me as I struggle to complete this thought. Have some respect for someone more forgetful than yourself."
