Ok, my football team was a difficult one to pick as I don't know many of the great defenders so I've decided to stick in defenders I've seen play when growing up as opposed to ones I've seen in video archives.

Goalkeeper:- P Schmeichal. He was class, just so opposing he was integral to Manchester Uniteds great team of the nineties plus he played a massive part in Denmarks European triumph.

Right Back:- L Matthaus. Ok, he was not a right back it would have been a waste but had he played right back at his peak he would have been the best in the world. He was versatile and at Italia 90 was clearly the best player in the world, he showed when playing sweeper he could defend. Hence I'm proud of this selection decision.

Left Back:- S Pearce. What a tackler and true team player. I wanted to pick a team and Pearce really was a team player who wore his heart on his sleeve.

Centre Back:- F Beckenbauer. A truly tough player, great at defending and then bringing the ball out of defence. A true legend of a player.

Centre Back:- R Koeman. Not one of the greatest out and out centre backs but he was a class defender and a great free kick taker who usually was able to put them in on the big occasions which is the sign of a true quality sportsman.

Right Midfield:- J Cruyff. All my midfielders were just true genuis's, Cruyff was a real stand-out player on the park.

Left Midfield:- G Best. George was born in Belfast an hour from where I was born. He was magnificant, he kicked with both feet, could tackle, had pace, unbelievable skill. Man George had it all, he was just quite simply one of the best if not the best all-round football player of all time.

Centre Midfield:- D Maradonna. This man was awesome, he won a world cup practically on his own. The most talented fotballer of all time.

Centre Midfield:- B Moore. This man was the kind of player who could cover every blade of grass on the pitch, perhaps the best ball winner of them all.

Forward:- Pele. I do think Pele is a little over-rated as I feel that he didn't have the ability of some of the other greats but yet he gets rated higher. He was though a truely legendary goal scorer.

Forward:- K Phillips. SuperKev is so underrated. I've seen this man on a few occasions and he always stands out as being a class above everybody else. Kev is the best player I've ever went to a match and seen play and I have seen a lot of quality players at games especially at Euro 96 in England. I also had to include a Sunderland player in my team.

Charlton, Di Stefano, Eusebio, Puskas,Yashin, Matthews and some others may be miffed but there it is, the Rocks dream team. They would entertain and win and thats what everyone should be looking for in a football team.
