Zeke--Til The Living End
These guys are just balls-out rock 'n' roll!
The Packaging:
The cover of this album is what seems to be an aviator type mask with the American flag on it and some more detail in the glasses, with ZEKE printed above it. This release also contains a bonus DVD.
There are no lyrics in the booklet, which is only a tri-fold with a pic of the current members (Blind Marky Felchtone, Donny Paycheck, Diamond Jeff Matz), a blurry live shot and some recording credits. No lyrics on a Zeke album make it hard to sing along, however if you can screech to music, you've pretty much got it.
The Music:
This is Zeke through and through; 15 songs that clock in at around a half hour with almost no breaks between tracks. The songs run right into each other just like every other Zeke release. This album isn't as brutal as Death Alley, however it's not a 'light' album either. The best way to describe these guys is Motorhead on speed!
The Bonus DVD:
This is what you want from a bonus DVD. You expect less, but with Zeke, you get 3 live shows! It's almost a 90-minute DVD. There is a full professional shot live show, which is the main attraction on the DVD. The other 2 shows are older and of lesser quality, however not bad by any means, perhaps a little bassy, but it's a bonus DVD. With 3 shows, you've already gotten more than you could ask for.
Zeke plays very hard, almost metal type rock. If you like Motorhead and the whole slew of kick-ass rock bands like the Supersuckers and Speedealer, you'll love Zeke. If you don't know Zeke, and you like loud and fast and heavy music, go buy Zeke's new album now. NOW!
Zeke You!
