Rockport Marine Will Launch a Fife Inspired

Double Ended, Double Planked Daysailer
ROCKPORT, MAINE, AUGUST 1, 2007 � On Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 Rockport Marine will launch a classic yacht with the sweep of Fife inspired lines. She is a design of Fife aficionado David Ryder-Turner and will be christened Palma. She is 34� long and is double planked with Alaskan Yellow Cedar over laminated Douglas fir frames. Her deck is teak and she is trimmed with mahogany throughout. Fitted with a small diesel engine, 456 sq� of sail, and a draft of 4�6� she will be able to move when and where she wants too.
Brian Englander led the building crew during her construction over the last ten months and commented that Palma was built to �mantel piece� standards. She is a classic beauty; should be fast and with a beam of 8� quite comfortable.
