| 19Wheels' all ages c.d. release show. I spent a lot of time hanging up flyers to help promote it. It was a short but good set that started with So Cool and also included Boomtown, TV Queen, Lonely #9, Broken, 360, and Loveydoveytown. Before the show started, Chris thanked me for helping with flyers. After the show, there were a lot of people waiting to get autographs. I've seen 19Wheels, my favorite band, several times now--at Summer Bash, Edge Fest, The Orbit Room, MSU, and this time. I was also supposed to see them in Kalamazoo and at the East Town Street Fair, but the first was cancelled and I arrived late for the other because of a cross country meet. I still remember the first time I ever saw 19Wheels. I was touching the stage and I nearly cried when they started 13 Seconds. That show was before Sugareen came out, so they also played Come On Jenny, Starlight, and other Six Ways From Sunday songs. t was a beautiful night and before Starlight, Chris said something along the lines of "This is the perfect night to sing this song." And it was. The show was outside and the sky was clear and full of stars. The song perfectly complimented what was already a beautiful evening. Later in the show, Brian Vanderark of The Verve Pipe joined 19Wheels for a song. It was incredble! Back to the Media Play show...This show's setlist varied from the past few, which was a welcome change. I miss hearing Six Ways songs, though. There was a little girl dancing throughout the entire show and it was adorable. Because of the younger kids in attendance, Chris changed the bad word in Broken to "ship" ("You can pretend it's any kind of ship--An ocean liner or a yacht...") and also edited TV Queen. Oh, and he said that Lonely #9 was about a train. This was an awesome show and Sugareen is an exceptional album. I still wish I could hear Country Girl, Jenny, Eyesore, and 13 Seconds in concert again. |
