THE INTERSECTION, 1/19/01
Yet another 19Wheels show.  This one took us 4 1/2 hours and three vehicles before we got there.  Our chain of events was as follows:
*Sara, Elizabeth, Erin, and I depart Allegan at 7PM
*Ten minutes out of Allegan, we hit a deer and do some pretty substantial damage to Sara's mom's car.
*We call the cops, get insurance info all figured out, and go back to Allegan for another vehicle.
*About half way to The Intersection, we blow a tire.  We stood on the left side of the highway for over an hour waiting for Sara's parents to arrive.  A man on his way to a "cowboy bar" also stopped to help us.  He was a funny man.
*We return to Allegan.
*Determined to makethe show, we ask Erin's mom for permission to use her minivan.
*Finally, at 11:30, we arrive--Only to be told that there are to omany minors and we can't get in.  No amount of pleading will change the bouncer's mind.  Then, in the background, I see WGRD's Remy, run up to him, explain what happened to us, and beg him to get us in...And he does.  Not only did we get in, but we got in for free!  The bouncer was not happy about that.
But, on to the show...
The club is packed for 19Wheels, who are already half way through their set.  Their energy and stage presence were incredible.  After the show, I talked to them and they were all sorry to hear what we went through toget there.  There was a record scout at the Section that night and, according to Chris, he really liked the band.
After the 19Wheels set, the club really cleard out.  Because of this, I was able to be in the front row for Molly without hurting my arm (when I wrote this, I had a broken arm).  molly's set rocked as well--high energy, talking to the crowd, spitting water on eachother through their teeth, Walk Like an Egyptian...
A great show once we got there and got in.
