| This wondeful hard rock band, formed in New Jersey, USA, is fronted by Jon bon Jovi (born John Francis Bongiovi Jnr., March 2nd 1963). Four co-members were Richie Sambora(born Richard Stephen Sambora July 11 1959, lead guitarist), David Bryan (born David Rashbaum, Febuary 7th 1962, keyboards, Tico Torres (born October 7th 1953, purcussion, and Alec John Such (November 14, 1956, bass). John met Dave Bryan at Sayreville High School, where they both shared an interest in rock music. John and Dave soon joined eight other musicians in the R&B cover band Atlantic City Expressway. When David moved to New York to study at the Julliard School of Music, John followed. Charming his way into the Power Station recording studios, which was owned by his cusin Tony Bongiovi, he performed menial tasks for two years before Billy Squire agreed to produce his demo tape. One track "Runaway" was played on local radio and appeared on a local artist compilation album. Reunited with Dave, he acquired the services of Richie Sambora, an established session musician, such and Torres. By July 1983, they had a recording contract with Polygram Records and support slots with Eddie Money and ZZ Top, the latter at Madison Square Garden. Jon Bon Jovi's looks attracted immediate attention for the band, and he turned down a leading role in the hit movie "Footloose" to concentrate on his music. There debut album preceded a headline tour and support slots with the Scorpions, Whitesnake , and KISS. Their second album , 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit, was greeted with cynicism by the music press, which was already hostile towards the bands manicured image and formularized heavy rock - this mediocre album only fuelled their scorn. The band responded in style: Slippery When Wet was the biggest selling rock album of 1987. When New Jersey followed it included "Livin in Sin", a Jon Bon Jovi conposition that pointed to his solo future, although the song owed a great debt to his hero Bruce Springsteen. The rest of 1989 was spent on more extensive touring, before the band temporarily retired. As Jon Bon Jovi commented, it was time to "Ride my bike into the hills, learn how to garden, anything except doin another Bon Jovi record." He subsequently concentrated on his solo career, married Karate Champion Dorothea Hurley and appeared in his first movie, Young Guns two, which you can hardly see him in it but hey he's there hehe :-).! Jon won an award and Bon Jovi got back together to make Keep The Faith, which is a kick ass rock n roll record in my opion!!hehe. Although things werent going so great with bassist Alec John Such, he was fired and Hugh McDonald replaced his spot. (he is still not an official member). meanwhile, Dave released his first solo record, and Mr. Sambora married Actress/ model Heather Locklear. These days was released shortly after and included hits such as "This aint a love song". Bon Jovi disappeared for a while but came back with there CD "Crush" hits including "It's my Life" , "Thank you for loving me" , and "One Wild Night" in 2000. Which sold over millions of copies. "One wild Night live" was released a year later and Bon Jovi are accually in the studio working on there next album "Bounce".! One of there Singles "Everyday from Bounce has when released.
