Meaning: This song is meaning that the main character and his friends are going to some sort of party and party alot and interact. Basically that is what the poem means. It says "after midnight, we're gonna chug-a-lug and shout" meaning that they will chug alot of alcohol. This song's meaning is very basic and you don't really have to dig deep to analyze it.
Relate to 1970: This poem relates to the 1970s because during that time people were all going to parties. To them parties was basically that time. People would go to raves and parties to interact alot and drink. During that decade the people mostly interacted alot.
